Blackbutt

Janka (hardness): 9.1

Blackbutt is a commonly grown hardwood that has attractive colouring from cream to pale brown, sometimes with a slight tinge of pink. The colour range is subtle and is excellent where the colour requirement is light and neutral. Its grain is usually straight and texture its medium and even. The sapwood is distinctly lighter than the heartwood and is not susceptible to lyctid borer attack.
